Having a baby is such a joyful time but getting back into shape isn’t easy. It’s not something that is going to be fixed by living at the gym. Stretch marks and extra skin doesn’t just go away. A mommy makeover is a great option to get your pre-baby body back because having a baby has changed your body. Now you may be thinking “I didn’t love my pre-pregnancy body.” That’s okay because with a mommy makeover, you can have more control over your curves and overall body shape.
A mommy makeover is a combination of cosmetic surgery procedures that are all done in one sitting. This allows you to get a total makeover without having to book a lot of cosmetic surgery procedures because as all of us parents know, time is a rare commodity. A mommy makeover includes breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and liposuction (usually tummy and lower body). These procedures are the most common way to help reduce the effects that childbirth and breastfeeding have on a woman’s body. A mommy makeover addresses the issue of weight gain, skin stretching, loss of firmness, and deflation in the breasts. Who doesn’t want to achieve all these amazing results at once?
Lots of women want to have a breast augmentation after giving birth because the breasts expand when they are producing milk. It’s very common for a woman cup size to go up during the time they are producing milk and drop back down again once she stops breastfeeding. This causes the skin to stretch then become saggy. Sometimes, it’s hard to even recognize our own breasts after childbirth; which can cause any woman to feel uncomfortable in her own body.
Most women develop fat on their hips and thighs during pregnancy. Liposuction will get rid of those stubborn fat pockets, such as love handles. Liposuction can be used to remove fat in other areas, not just the abdomen. This prodcure can help contour and improve the shape of your body. It’s also a great way to boost your confidence that will make you feel beautiful from the inside out.
Tummy Tuck is the most popular procedure. It’s so popular because it addresses a lot of didn’t issue at once. Who wouldn’t want to get smoother, firmer skin around the belly area, remove stretch marks and the same time as losing belly fat!? I know I want my bikini body back by using tummy tuck to tighten my abdomen skin. During pregnancy, your stomach has grown with the baby but then after childbirth, your stomach sags with all that extra skin.
What do I have to do, to get a Mommy Makeover
The mommy makeover depends on the patient and the vision they have for their body. Everybody is different and carries their baby differently. It’s very important to design the mommy makeover to be the right plan to match the patient’s body and goals. Sometimes the patient doesn’t want or need all three of the procedures, therefore the length of the operation and recovery time will change. This is why it’s important to book a consultation beforehand to have all of your questions answered.

What do I need to plan out before surgery?
If you have young children at home, you might want to look into getting some help if your spouse isn’t able to be around all the time. You also might want to plan ahead by getting important things done before your surgery. Prepare meals that are easy to pull out of the freezer so you don’t have to be on your feet as much. If you have any prescriptions, see if you can pick it up early. If your children are enrolled in sports and other activities, see if you can find a driver in advance. Added stress can delay your body’s natural recovery process.
Post Mommy Makeup
The first few days you want to make sure you don’t move around too much, doing so will help it from being too painful. Usually, by the end of the first week, people feel great and are wanting to get back to their normal activities. You really don’t want to rush things, you should start doing some light activities and walking after the first week. After the second week, you can start picking up your children if they are light and return to work as long as you don’t have a heavy physical job. At 8 weeks you can get back to the gym and doing yoga but you should slowly get back into it.
Most times after the mommy makeover procedures, you are able to shower after 5 days. However, it is best to ask Dr. Guirguis when is the best time to start showering again. If you feel the need to shower and are unable, try using dry shampoo.
